Time: 10:30am
Venue: Helpeby War Memorial
The annual Remembrance Sunday service this year will take place as usual around the war memorial in Main Street.
The service starts at 10:35 am on Sunday 10th November. After the service there will be a short wreath laying ceremony at the war memorial outside the Lychgate to commemorate the crew of the Halifax Bomber shot down over our village in March 1945.
The service joins communities around the country in remembering our war dead and the casualties of war. In particular, remembering the 37 men and women from our small Parish who died in both the First and Second World Wars and the 7 crew of Halifax Bomber ZU 612 who were killed in action in skies over our village far away from their homes in Canada
